I traveled to Egypt for the first time and enjoyed it a lot. I did not know what to expect and arrived in Cairo with some trepidation about a culture, religion and way of life I didn’t understand. I admit arriving with a touch of ignorance and a small tinge of fear. Diving the Giannis D was most definately my favourite dive whilst we were in Egypt. We were very lucky to be able to dive the wreck as we were told that there was a 50-75% chance of us not being able to dive there. We set sail from the Marriott hotel with the Aquarius Dive Club www.aquariusredsea.com at around 0730 with the hope of diving the Giannis D. Its position in the Red Sea makes it often not possible to dive, due to the strong currents and rough sea. We were the last people on the boat and everyone was (more…)
